Château de Damigny

Château de Damigny is a 19th-century château at the entrance to Bayeux, notable for a surviving 15th-century baker's oven on the grounds — a rare physical link to the site's much older history predating the current building by several centuries. It sits within 1.5 hectares of parkland with century-old trees and a spring-fed pond.

Today just 3 bedrooms and 2 suites (5 total), individually restored and designed, occupy the château, with breakfast and table d'hôtes served in a wood-paneled dining room.

The surviving 15th-century baker's oven, predating the 19th-century château itself by roughly four centuries, points to a much older settlement history on this site than the current building's construction date alone would suggest.

The property's genuinely small scale — just 5 rooms — gives Damigny a personal, bed-and-breakfast character distinct from the larger full-service hotels found elsewhere in the France collection.
