The village of Zdunowo is first mentioned in 1398, and in the mid-15th century it was a noble village of the Zdunowski family. In 1782 the estate was bought by Tadeusz Czerski, a colonel of the Crown Army cavalry. At the beginning of the 20th century it passed to Cecylia and Stanisław Jaworowski, who founded the palace; their coat of arms and initials are on the façade and the entrance door.
The palace was built in 1905–1910 on the site of an older brick manor, in the style of a modernized late Baroque, and the designer probably belonged to the circle of the Viennese architectural studio Fellner & Helmer. The Jaworowskis commissioned the park from the Warsaw garden designer Walerian Kronenberg. The Jaworowskis' daughter brought the palace as her dowry to Piotr Domański. In 1939 a field airfield was set up at Zdunowo, and the Germans later placed a field hospital there.
In 1946 the estate was taken over by the State Treasury; the palace housed Soviet troops, the Polish army and a children's home, and from 1957–58 an agricultural school. It was entered in the register of historical monuments and then left without care and became devastated. It was bought in 1989, and from 2001 a thorough renovation began; in October 2002 a fire destroyed the roof and the upper floors' timberwork, after which the building was rebuilt and the façade recreated. The renovation was awarded in April 2009, and the palace now operates as a hotel with free parking, free Wi-Fi and breakfast included on the rate seen.
