Highlights
- ✦The hotel's history page records a manor and estate at Vidovice in 1388, held by a noble family styled "of Vidovice"; the manor seems to have disappeared in the second half of the 15th century, possibly after the Hussite wars
- ✦On 24 December 1877 a newly created separate estate called Vidovice, with a representative building, a farm and a brickworks, was handed to the newlyweds Eleonora Brzorádová and Rudolf Kainz
- ✦In 1894 the estate was sold to the Milner family, who carried out the biggest building works in 1904; from 1906 the seat was called a newly built château with a park
- ✦Owners over the years included the Berchtold noble family, which gave the château its present name
- ✦Kudy z nudy says the château was used by the Gestapo in the Second World War and, from the second half of the 20th century, by the Prague air-defence unit of the Czechoslovak army
- ✦New owners took it over on 18 April 2005 and carried out a six-year reconstruction, adding a wing towards the park, extending the park and building a sports centre

A manor at Vidovice is recorded in 1388 but seems to have disappeared in the second half of the 15th century. The present château grew from a separate estate created in 1877, with a representative building, a farm and a brickworks. The Milner family, who bought it in 1894, carried out the largest building works in 1904, and from 1906 it was described as a newly built château with a park. The Berchtold family were among its later owners.
In the 20th century it was used by the Gestapo and later by the Czechoslovak army's Prague air defence; it was handed to the municipality after 1990 and then sold to a company that left it in debt.
New owners took it over in 2005 and spent six years on a reconstruction, adding a wing and a sports centre and opening it to the public as a hotel. The ground floor houses a village museum from 1935, and the château now runs as a hotel with a restaurant and a private wellness area, about 15 km from Prague beside the D1 motorway.
