Domaine des Thômeaux

Domaine des Thômeaux is an 18th-century tufa-stone-and-brick manor house built on the site of a medieval building known as "Le Grand Hôtel de Mosnes," with Italian-influenced architecture, an orangery, and Renaissance-style gardens.

Today its 29 uniquely themed rooms, each inspired by a different destination around the world, are spread across the main manor house, a separate annex building (rooms here have no WiFi, per guest-facing property information), and two forest cabins by a pond. The estate sits within 7 hectares of wooded parkland, alongside a 400-square-meter wellness area with a pool, sauna, hammam and fitness room.

The manor's construction on the site of the medieval "Le Grand Hôtel de Mosnes" ties this 18th-century building to an earlier, now-vanished structure, a common pattern across the Loire Valley where later buildings frequently replaced medieval predecessors.

The world-destination theming applied to each of the 29 rooms gives Thômeaux a distinctly playful, design-forward character, setting it apart from the more traditionally styled wine châteaux found elsewhere in the Loire Valley.

The property's mix of main-house rooms, an annex building, and freestanding forest cabins reflects a resort-style approach to accommodation variety, offering guests several genuinely different settings within the same estate.

The château's position on the Loire's "Vallée des Rois" (Valley of the Kings), just 10 minutes from both Château de Chaumont-sur-Loire and Château d'Amboise, gives guests staying at Thômeaux easy access to two of the region's most significant royal residences.
