Granarola Castle is a restored 13th-century medieval castle, surrounded by oaks and fragrant laurel, that takes its name from its Roman-era function, when the valley's grain reserves were stored in its caves. It was an important feudal outpost, where wheat from the fertile surrounding valley was stored.
The restoration was driven by Marco Morosini, patron of the Brandina fashion brand, and today the former structure houses eighteen residences. Each residence combines old and new elegance, is highly personalized, and is named after memories Morosini chose to share with guests — among them the "Fox's Den," a unique residence carved directly into the old caves that once served as the castle's grain store.
