San Gaudenzio Castle

Il Castello di San Gaudenzio dates to the 15th century and has been carefully restored, combining period elements with modern comforts. The castle preserves 18th-century-style halls with frescoes and original furnishings, charming stone courtyards, an armory, and a library. The old stables were converted into an indoor pool and fitness room with modern equipment.

Set in the Lombard countryside, in the hamlet of San Gaudenzio, Cervesina, the castle sits in the Oltrepò Pavese region, a short distance from Milan and Pavia. Today it operates as a four-star relais within a historic building, with 45 rooms and suites, each inspired by 16th- and 17th-century interiors.

The preservation of the castle's 18th-century halls, armory, and library within the same historic building — rather than converting them into additional guest rooms — reflects a deliberate choice to keep these representative spaces intact as part of the guest experience.
