Meet your Beefeater guide at the entrance and begin with the outer ward — the medieval walls, towers, and the famous scaffold site on Tower Green where Anne Boleyn, Catherine Howard, and Lady Jane Grey were executed. Yeoman Warders have guarded the Tower of London since 1485. There are currently 37 of them, all retired senior non-commissioned officers from the British Armed Forces with at least 22 years of service. They live inside the Tower with their families.
