Moszna Castle stands in the village of Moszna in Opole Voivodeship, Upper Silesia, near Prudnik in south-western Poland — an estate whose present, eclectic silhouette is largely the product of a single rebuilding campaign at the turn of the 20th century. From 1866 to 1945 it was the family seat of the Tiele-Winckler family, Silesian industrialists whose wealth shaped the palace's later expansion.

On the night of 2 April 1896, a fire partly destroyed the older Baroque central palace. Franz Hubert von Tiele-Winckler directed the rebuilding and enlargement that followed: an eastern neo-Gothic wing and an orangery were completed by 1900, and a western neo-Renaissance wing was added between 1912 and 1914. The result is a building that mixes several historicist styles under one roofline, with the many towers across its wings giving rise to the estate's popular nickname as the 'castle of 99 towers' — a traditional figure describing the whole building, not a precise architectural count.

After the Second World War, the castle served as a sanatorium. Since 2013 it has been run by the Moszna Zamek company, owned by the regional Marshal's Office of Opole Voivodeship, operating today as a hotel within the historic building while the wider estate remains a visitor attraction in its own right.

Rooms inside the castle are large and simply furnished, several carrying historic names such as the 'Golden Apartment'; one apartment occupies the space where the count's own bedroom once stood.

History

The estate became the family seat of the Silesian industrial Tiele-Winckler family, who held it from 1866 until 1945. A fire on the night of 2 April 1896 partly destroyed the old Baroque central palace; Franz Hubert von Tiele-Winckler then directed the rebuilding and enlargement, with the eastern neo-Gothic wing and an orangery finished by 1900 and the western neo-Renaissance wing built in 1912–1914. After the Second World War it served as a sanatorium; since 2013 it is run by the Moszna Zamek company, owned by the regional (Opole) Marshal's Office.
